As some may have noticed I have added a
lot more information to the write ups for each macro character or
animal. When it comes to cartoons there are basicaly a few general
themes that are used either in the situation or in growth moments. In
the means of giving even more information to you, in case you are
looking for something in particular or were just curious I have
come up with some Episode Type classifications to place every episode
into if possible. Some episodes will have more then one theme running
through it and more then one will be listed if that is the case. If I
run across something that doesn't fit an
existing category Ill make a new one. (listed alphabeticaly)
Growth
Ray (Formula) -- One of the most common situations. This is
where some device or machine or gizmo or invention is used to make the
animal or furry big. Nothing changes besides the size. Its basic and to
the point. ZAP!! They are big. A Growth Formula can also be used
but has the same exact results. Some drink is either poured on or drank
and the character gets bigger due to it. Any device, substance, power,
potion, object that causes growth due to it's effects would fall under
this. It doesn't have to be just a growth ray or potion but could be a
growth (fill in the blank) type of thing that made said character
bigger with it's effects.
Inflation
-- Growth caused by inflation and air. Said character either willingly
or forced to increase in size through blowing into one self, sucking in
air or being pumped up in size. These situations can get tricky as
sometimes they will be solid and regular creatures after said use of
size adjustment and it was just a fun way to get them big but other
times they can truly be just filled with air giving all the drawbacks
due to that fact.
King
Kong Situation -- Very common in the movie macro moments but
shows up a lot in the cartoon situations as well. It doesn't always
have to be a monkey or Gorilla but most of the time it will be. This is
pretty much an episode that mimics the King Kong movies. This category
will usualy be an add on to another as usualy the situation before it
became a King Kong Spoof was something differnet. But some episodes can
be purely King Kong in situation where the ape is already big naturaly
as it makes its debut in the episode. Pretty much this is any time you
see a huge gorilla climbing a tall sky scrapper with a captive in hand
while airplanes circle around trying to get at him or anything else
that tries to play on or spoof things that are associated with the
movie King Kong.
Magic
-- All it takes sometimes is a
simple zap of the ol magic wand to create a new creature of huge size.
These are often differnet then just regular size increse situations as
usualy the creature may be either magicaly formed out of something else
or nothing for that matter or changed into something totaly differnet
and the only reason we are to believe it worked was due to magic and
nothing more. Anything involving sorcery, wands or some weird
incantation to cause a macro situation that would be where this
category comes into play.
Mutataion
-- Similar to devolving but
the animal or furry doesn't change into a giant devloved or dinosaur
version of themselves, but into a totaly differnet animal all
together. A lizard changing into a dragon for instance would be a
mutation and not a devolution due to dragons being mystical creatures
and not devolved lizards. A cat being zapped and suddenly changed into
some giant mutant creature would also be what this category classifies.
Not used as often as some of the others but makes for interesting
situations and also makes for some things I coudln't even tell you as
to what they are supposed to be but they are big and thats what matters
here.
Mythology -- Deals with a mythological or Deity type of creature or animal. Can either have been created by such beings or servents related to Mythology or can be naturaly that size already and are creatures that fall under this category. Greek, Norse, Roman, Native American amongst others all have their own creatures of great size that often show up in cartoons and/or movies or tv shows. The whole situations focus around such a thing and isn't your typical macro situation that is normaly dealt with as a higher power is involved in the situation for the most part.
Over Eating -- Eating something in over abundance causes the character to grow bigger in size, the more he/she eats the bigger they get. For this page growing wide without height is not a macro classification. This is when height as well as weight were added due to the over eating. This can get tricky as a lot of episodes will use appetite and eating after the growth occured but that is affer afects and not really an eating related growth. Thats just a bonus I suppose for those who like that idea for what caused the growth. When the main trigger was eating and the situation revolves around more eating after they have become giant sized, that is when this category is in effect.
Recombination
-- Not often used in movies but was sometimes used in cartoons in the
80's. This is when some animal or furry is split into many small and
tiny versions of itself that cause havoic or continue to reproduce more
and more mini clones of themselves throughout the episode. Towards the
end of the episode the said creatures will be recombined some how, only
to wind up being huge in size due to all the little versions of
themself coming into one form again.
Transformation
-- Usually involves a human transforming into another animal or beast
all together. Werewolves and the similar are perfect examples of a
metamorphosis from human to beastial form. These don't always
have to involve humans though. An animal or furry being changed into
something else all together from what they are besides just getting
bigger would also go under this classification unless it more closely
fit one of the other subjects. If the transformation was naturally
occurring and doesn't fit in the magic or mutation classifications then
it would be a pure transformation type of situation.
