Glossary

-A-

Age Progression - When a creature starts out young or in an infant like state and ages over a short period of time to it's mature state. Often being used on this page for the reasons of the now mature state that the only moments before younger creature is of a very large and massive size. Age progressions can be both macro and non-macro and occur often in cartoons and comic books. Of course only the macro moments filled age progressions will be highlighted on this page.

****

Anthropomorphic - Animals, creatures or other objects that walk and move with human like characteristics. Often with two arms and two legs and the set up of a human body but with the make up of what the creature or object would look like without the anthropomorphic qualities. Bugs Bunny is the perfect example of an Anthropomorphic Rabbit. He has the make up of a cartoon like rabbit but walks and is shaped like a human would normally look.

The true definition of the word is:
adj. : suggesting human characteristics for animals or inanimate things

****

AVI - Is an acronym for Audio Video Interleave. Some of the character listings will have the AVI option listed below the pictures giving you an Audio/Video movie of some of the moments of said character in said episode. The formats can include .mov, RealPlayer, .avi , MPEG or quicktime.  AVI's used to be in their own section of the site and would include characters that weren't up in the List section but now are only available to characters that are properly listed and are no longer found in a separate section on the site.

-B-

Better Then Nothing -  Usually a bad episode that is either animated badly, written badly or just plain hard to watch but it has macro moments so it is better then nothing at all. This would often be a very disappointing moment or just poorly executed all around and could have been much better then it turned out to be. Not something to look to for a good macro moment.

****

Blink Moment (or) Blink and You Might Miss It -  A macro moment that only lasts for a few seconds or no more then a minute in any given episode or movie. More often then not blink moments will be very short lived and hardly noticeable if you aren't paying attention (hence the 'you might miss it' part of the term). Can often be used for a sight gag or amusing ending to various cartoon episodes but show up in movies as well.  Used to be a separate section on the page but now characters in blink moments will just show up on the lists like full macro episodes moments will.  Blink moments can involve major characters or background situations that aren't a focus. Not all blink moments will make it onto the page as some are too short to focus on or too unimportant to highlight in anyway. Blink moments on the page will usually (but not always) be cool characters that I feel should have gotten more of a macro treatment then the short moment they did in the given situation being shown. Blink moments can also be called "Teasers" as  they only give a small taste of what could have been macro wise as it ends as quickly as the situation was started.

-C-

Common Themes - One of the original parts of the website when it was first created. It is a listing of various themes that are found in a lot of macro cartoon episodes. It is an ever growing list of things you will notice happen a lot in many episodes. For instance the same type of music will be heard while the macro creature arrives. Or that the creature will often out grow a building during the growth process.

****

Contact Information - A section of the site that lists various ways you can contact Temdant. Email and Instant Messaging names are all listed here. It is a small section but one that you may want to go to if you are interested in helping out with anything site related. Or just want to talk about various things both site or not site related.

-D-

Devolve (or) Devolving - Going from a highly evolved sentient state to a more primal and lower on the evolutionary process state. Going backwards in ones developmental stages over time. An iguana being changed into it's distant evolutionary cousin the Tyrannosaurs Rex is a good example of how devolving can come to be of use as far as this page is concerned.  Anything that references the idea that dinosaurs existed before humans did and that turning back someone's evolutionary state would change them into a more dinosaur like form or body would be where devolving would come into use. For instance Darkwing Duck when he was devolved changed from his current anthropomorphic duck form into a huge dinosaur like duck like creature. When he was hit again with the devolving device he was changed into a fish. Hence going backwards in the chain of the evolutionary process of which creature came from which in a backwards order.

****

DivX- An AVI  compression format that can preserve the quality of a given AVI while reducing the file size greatly after it is compressed through this format. Most AVI's found on this site are compressed with DivX and if they aren't yet will be in the near future to conserve space on both this site and for those who download the AVI for their own hard drives.  DivX files can be played in most movie players on the computer including Microsoft's Window Media Player, DivX's The Playa and Winamp's player, with many more capable of playing the AVI's found here. Sometimes the DivX plug in has to be separately downloaded to make your player compatible with such files.

-E-

80's Episode (or) No Frills 80's Episode - This does not mean any cartoon episode that was made from between 1980-1989. But when the term is used in the reviews on the page it really relates to cartoons from that decade that had a common theme found in many episodes through that time period.  This term relates more to a cartoon episode that was more interested in teaching kids lessons then having a fun action packed episode. Mostly related to the "Just Say No" campaign that was famous in the United States in the 1980's where kids were told to say no to drugs. Broadening that campaign cartoons were now involved with the schooling of kids through the various episodes by teaching them things like "Telling the truth" "Don't Talk to strangers" and "Good always winning over evil".  These type of themes would often lead to ridiculous situations and the bad guys being defeated or out done in silly ways all to get certain messages across. While the macro moments are found in these type of episodes the focus is usually about brainwashing the kids at home to be better people through the episode they are watching, over the fun that could be had if there wasn't an ulterior motive involved.

****

Episode Type - Part of the List and Real Life Animals sections, this extra information category in each review will try and give a narrow view of what themes to expect in said media moment. A list of all the episode type possibilities are found in the Common Themes category. They can range from Blink Moment type listings to being listed as a Mythology moment. The idea behind this category is to give people an idea of what type of themes were used in the particular episode and can also help them narrow down what story elements were used in case they are looking for something in particular.

****

Evolving or Evolution - Going from a lower state on the evolutionary chain to a higher one over a period of time. Won't often lead to macro moments for the page but can when the creatures are very low on the evolutionary stage and reach the dinosaur or prehistoric period of time in their evolutionary changes. Evolving will also often be how the now big devolved creature in a given episode is stopped as it is returned to it's previous regular higher evolved state over the huge lumbering creature that it was in it's devolved form. Evolution can be subjective as it's actuality can be disputed in both religious and non-religous aspects. As far as this page is concerned since all aspects on this page are focusing on media moments which are all fiction then the debate of the validity of evolution doesn't matter as either way it's just being used in a story that is a fantasy situation anyway so such problems are moot as it is.

-F-

F.A.Q. (or) Frequently Asked Questions - A section on the site that answers questions  that have been asked many times over the years. Also goes into details that people may not have asked but will explain to them anyway so they don't have to ask about it.  The perfect place to go when you are wondering what this site is all about, what things are highlighted here and any other random things you may like to know about the site. Updated every now and then when things change on the site or as more questions are asked that warrent an addition to it. Often things answered here won't be repeated in emails due to time constraints and laziness on the part of pepole not to read it in the FAQ first. Be sure to check out this section first if you are new to the site.

****

Fantasy Situation - Refers to a situation in the given media being talked about that didn't happen in the actual reality that said show is being taken place in. This includes daydreams, regular dreams, fantasies, stories being told, hallucinations and similar aspects that are all happening in someone's mind in some sense or in some other piece of fiction being done in the episode or movie being watched.

****

Final Notes - Extra notes listed at the end of the reviews in the character based sections. This will often give little tid bits that may be of interest that are related to the episode being talked about in some way. It can include voice actor information or basic show information or any other factoids that may add some extra knowledge to the episodes and media's found on the site.

****
Fourth Wall - A moment in an episode, movie or comic book where a character in said story realizes that they are nothing more then just said character in said form of medium and even try to relate to the outside world watching them.  They will go out of character as if they are nothing more then actors doing a role and start to acknowledge those in the outside world that is supposed to be viewing them at the moment.  This will happen quite often in some cartoons over others. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was nortorius for interacting with the people at home. Donatello for instance in the episode "Turtles of the Jungle" had a line about 'the producers of the show spending all the money on the episode they are in' after he and Jocko had a huge fight in New York destroying various buildings. Winnie the Pooh when he grows too big in Frankenpooh hits the top of the film reel they are supposed to be on also acknowledging that they are just cartoon characters and realize that to be the case.   Ambush Bug comics are also a good example of where this acknowledgement that he is nothing more then a comic book character was very common.

When the Fourth Wall is said to be 'broken' this is when that imaginary wall that keeps us viewers out of view to those interacting in the media we are watching. This will happen various times in macro episodes due to the fact that some characters are put into ridiculous for them type of situations and even they have to take a step back and look at the situation they now find themselves in. As if it were just an actor doing a role. Usually when the fourth wall is broken it is only for a one liner or very quick moment before the wall is back in place again and the situation in said media continues as if it were going all along.

****

Frank Welker -  One of the best and most talented modern voice actors when it comes to cartoons (in my humble opinion of course). Especially when dealing with the focus of this page, due to the fact that Welker can do monster and animal voices as if they were second nature. He will often be associated with the voice of giant monsters or characters with weird voices. Some of his more famous voice works have included: Slimer and Dr. Ray Stantz from the Real Ghostbusters, Megatron and Soundwave from the Transformers, Shmoo from Flintstone Spin-off series, and Abu and Rajah in Aladdin. When it is known that he did a voice in one of the episodes appearing on the page a mention of his voice work will be noted as such in the Final Notes below each write up. I highly respect his work and what he has done for macro creatures of all sorts and am truly amazed by how many times his voice work did come into play when it comes to a giant monster or animal in various episodes. He seems to be the name to go to when the animation studios need that perfect someone to do the part of the rampaging creature that appears in that one episode they came up with. There are over a thousand different episodes he has done work for and he is still doing voice work to this day and probably will for a long time to come. Highly respected amongst his voice acting peers and known as a "Voice God" due to how many voices he can do so easily. So that being the case no reason he shouldn't be as highly respected on this page due to that fact that he is a good portion of the creatures that are highlighted here.

Furry - Furry or Furry Fandom is the main subject this page uses for it's macro moments. Furries are any animal character that is shown in a human acting or anthropomorphic style of characterizations. This can include artwork, cartoons, comic books, movies and television show based moments. Furry is all fantasy based dealing with animals that pretty much are evolved beings as if they had been the ones to evolve into the highest life forms on a said planet over humans. Most  of the Furry Fandom consists of non-macro based creatures. So these would all be human sized animal type creatures that are interacting in everyday society as if it were normal for them to do so.  There are too many examples to even name of some furry characters but the subject has been around for a very long time. Almost all Disney characters that act like regular humans do even though they are animals walking about are furries. Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck as well as more recent characters like Darkwing Duck and Stitch. Video Game characters such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails and Bubsy. Furry has been a part of life for a long time and this page honors furries in giant sized moments.

The true definition of the word is:
n: Furry fandom is an artistic and literary genre that celebrates the hybridization of human and animal traits and characteristics, specifically in cartoons and comics.
-G-

Giant (or) Giantess - A person or creature of great size. Often used when referring to humans rather then furries. Macro Furry is the more widely used furry fandom term for a animal or furry of giant size while Giant  (or Giantess) would be the term more widely used when referring to a male human (or Female human) of grand size. The term 'Giant" could very easily be used for anything of great size including furries and it is not incorrect to use the term to describe a macro furry and could be used respectively to mean the same thing.  More often then not though it is mostly based on humans rather then other creatures.  More often then not if you did a web search for giants you would come up with human based ones where as a search for macro furries would bring you specifically furries of giant size.

Glossary -  This is what you are reading at this very moment. It is a listing of various words and terms that are common or of importance when dealing with this website. This is one of the newer aspects of this page and is something I had been wanting to add for a long time just never got around to doing. Glossaries are very general based and much less informative then the FAQ often found on pages. It is for quick reference and  very basic knowledge of some of the terms you may read or hear about when concering this page. More terms will be added to this page as they are suggested or realized belong here.

The true definition of the word is:
n : an alphabetical list of technical terms in some specialized field of knowledge; usually published as an appendix to a text on that field

****

Godzilla Situation - A moment in an episode or movie that mimics a scene from the "Godzilla" movies. This usually will involve breathing fire, a anthropomorphic lizard rampaging down a street destroying all in it's path, an army trying to attack the monster and any Japanese references to people fearing the arriving monster via a street or rising out of the ocean. This can vary as it's all subjective and subtle at times but anything similar to something from a Godzilla movie would be what is referred to as a "Godzilla Situation" on this page.

****

Growing or Growth Moment  - The act of getting larger or bigger over a period of time. Either through natural or un-natural methods to eventually achieve a larger then previous size. The period of time can be a few seconds or a few years. For this pages purposes growth or growing will often be a very quick process that is occurring on another creature who is becoming much larger then it was moments before.  This page tries to highlight and stress when growth moments have been shown or occurred in various episodes, movies or comic books as they seem to make the macro moments all the better due to the change in power that has so quickly occurred. Most of the times growth will be given to animals and furries that normally never would have been giant size unless they were grown to be that size. That too can add a fun aspect to what makes growing so important to note in the character write ups found on this page. AVI's when available will try to include growth moments in them to show how they got to be big in the particular episode or story.

****

Growth Potion - A drink that when drank by or poured on a furry or animal will cause instant growth to occur. Often used in cartoons as a way to make others grow quickly in size.

****

Growth Ray - A device used often in cartoons that fires a ray from a gun like device that causes instant growth to whomever it makes contact with. Often used as a way to make furries and animals big quickly in various episodes.

-H-

Home -  The original index page for most websites on the web. For this site if the Home section is clicked on you will return to the staring index page of the site. Full of update information and random pictures and counter it is serves as more of an introduction to the site before you decide where you want to head to section wise.

-I-

Inflation - The growth process is being implemented through the process of air or some gas like substance being forced into anothers body at alarming rates hence causing growth to occur.  Often times the creatures will be of a stretchable material to cause this to work but it doesn't always have to be the case to be used. Monsterella and Gorgonzolla both blew into their fingers to cause their own growth to occur. This is a pure and simple display of inflation being used. Inflation can cause both in proportion or out of proportion growths to occur depending on the situation it is being used. When a cartoon character puts a air hose into it's mouth and starts to get bigger, more often then not it will also get rounder in the stomach as the air is pushing into them as if they were a rubber balloon or tire and inflating as such. Sometimes the air will just make them grow in size in perfect proportion as if they were hit with a growth ray.  The air inside of them will often be used as a way to return them to normal, once the air they used to grow is released they return to normal size. Not all inflation growth moments are fitting for the page. See the FAQ section for more on what is proper for the page over what isn't.

King Kong Rule - King Kong's size is the smallest size for this pages references that any macro furry or animal should be to truly be page worthy. Characters that often are able to hold regular sized characters in their hand, climb buildings and cause a major threat and are at least 30 feet in size all make for a something that highlights some of the better aspects of macro furry moments. Any smaller, and the interactions aren't grand enough or the macro furry interesting enough to do anything with those that are smaller to make it interesting enough for the viewer to take notice of why its being shown on this page in the first place. Of course any size bigger then King Kong is more then acceptable as far as this page is concerned to be a macro furry/animal moment.  But as far as a starting point, the King Kong rule is where to look to when you are in question as to what makes the site and what doesn't. There are exceptions, most notably the 12 foot exception where those who don't meet the King Kong size or bigger criteria can make it onto the site.

****

King Kong Situation - A moment in an episode or movie that mimics a scene from the "King Kong" movies.

****

King-Size Canary Situation - A moment in an episode or movie that mimics situations from the Tex Avery cartoon short titled "King-Size Canary". King Size Canary was one of the first well done macro cartoon episodes made. Originally shown in theaters in 1947 as a cartoon short before movies, it has been often mimicked and referred to in various cartoons over the year to follow this blue print. This situation  will usually involve a potion of sorts being used on more then one character causing them to go into a growth contest and change of power in order to out do the other. The outcome of such over use of the growth enducing whatever it happens to be will often times cause them to become mega macro in size sometimes sitting atop the planet like in King Size Canary but other times just through the clouds unable to tell how big they truly got by the end of the situation.

Links -  Commonly found on most pages. It is a list of other sites of a similar theme to the one you are on that you can go to after you finish viewing the site you are looking at the links on. The links can also go to unrelated sites that the person who runs the site just likes and wants to share with the viewers who have come there. Links found on this site are all of a macro furry nature and will take you to some of my favorite sites that have macro themes in them. Some of the sites are artwork based while others are more wide variety of options to view. The links will also link to the Official Yahoo! Club of this site.

****

List of Characters -  The first section ever to show up on the site. This is the main section where all the cartoon furry and animal characters that become macro sized are displayed.  Sections are seperated by animal types including: Felines, Canines, Dragons, Lizards, Apes, Livestock, Aquatic creatures, and Everything Else. Each character listed in each section of the List is listed in alphabetical order according to the name of the character. Once a character is selected you can then read about a synopsis of the epside, a review written by me, pictures of the macro moments found below, sometimes an AVI can be found for said characters moments, quotes said during the episode and other information that you may want to know about dealing with the episode.  The list is constantly growing and being added to so be sure to check this section often when you come to this site.

-M-

Macro Comic Books - Section of the site that highlights macro furry, animal and creature moments found in various comic books of all types. A spin off of the List of Characters that shows scanned comic book images that contain various macro furry moments that are fitting for the page. Will often include the same information found in the List of Characters section with a review, episode synopsis, data about the furry or animal in the situation and errors that can be noted found within the story. Not as big or developed as the Lists second it still can lead to some interesting additions to the page to see how similar themes can be in comic books as they are in cartoons and there were a lot more comic books then cartoons so that means more opportunities to find some lost macro moments that would otherwise be unknown to the surfers who come here.

****

Macro Furry/Animals -  Furry characters or animals of all varieties  that are of an extraordinarily larger size then is the norm. The word macro means large while the word furry relates to all animal type characters who portray human like characteristics. The term "Macro Furry" is the furry societies way of saying "Giant-Sized Furries" and often relates to monster sized creatures interacting in a normal planet Earth sized society.  This is the main focus of this web site. All creatures of a large size interacting with a regular sized world around them. Highlighting their interactions, change in power and view on the world and the many aspects that being a giant can bring.  Macro Furry can involve those that grew or those that were already naturally at their larger then normal size. Dragons and Dinosaurs are naturally macro while a house cat would have had to been grown somehow to reach a macro furry size.  Godzilla and King Kong are two of the most famous and popular macro furries in today's pop culture and society that most would be familiar with if they had to name a macro furry character. These two are often referenced or mimicked in some way to make up macro furry situations that are found in various media's found on this site.

****

Mega Macro -  This is the term used for when the size of said animal or furry is beyond huge in the macro furry sense but almost unmeasurably big in size. This would include furries the size of mountains or who's heads have grown through the clouds above or eventually as big as the planet itself. The mouse and cat at the end of King Size Canary film short are both mega macro in size due to being too big to fit on the planet due to how big they grew. Darkwing Duck also grew to a mega macro size when he was fighting Ordinary Guy and was using stars and the moon as weapons to fight. There is no set height to when Mega Macro starts over just regular macro. But for this page and my standards it would be when you can no longer interact in a regular macro rampaging situation and the whole world becomes more like a small toy model set below them per their perspective. It's also subjective like many other terms are here and can vary based on the given episodes or situations the characters find themselves in.  The head through the clouds and/or sitting atop the planet as if it were a seat are two factors I often use to classify something as a 'Mega Macro Moment' but these are just my guidelines and are far from the official way to classify the term.

****

Mutation -  An off shoot of transformation as the term is used on this site, this is when the creature or animal has become something totally unrelated to what it was before the growth in size that is being shown occurred. When a cat becomes a dragon or a dog  becomes a bird of giant size that would be a mutation situations. A drastic change in form and appearance is what would be classified as a mutation. Mutation is part of the Episode Listing category found on most reviews on this site. This category will be used a lot when creatures aren't just becoming a bigger version of themselves but something that either mixes other creatures into their new form or is totally indistinguishable from what they used to be. Especially comes into play when it is unknown what they have become or are made into a total original and un seen before form.

The true definition of the word is:

        n. The act or process of being altered or changed.

****

-N-

Neuter (or) Neutral Gender - Often referring to an unknown gender of a species. The creature, person or animal is neither female nor male or can have both traits of a female and male while not being totally one over the other. A male chicken that can lay eggs for instance. A male kangaroo with a female pouch. Godzilla from the 1998 USA movie. The dinosaurs from the movie Jurassic Park are all great examples of this. Often referring to aspects focusing around reproduction and how said creature doesn't fit into the norm of being the male or female specifically in the reproductive process but can share traits that both sexes of it's species  would have but not necessarily meaning the sexual organs. They can also just as easily lack both traits of both males and females. Somewhere right in the middle of both genders. Not to be confused with Hermaphrodite which is something very different then the neuter gender.

****

Non-Anthropomorphic - A term often used by me to mean an animal or creature that does not stand upright like a human would and usually lacks arms. Used to classify regular four legged animal like bodies or any non-human like shape or form.  Furries can be Non-Anthropomorphic and still Furry. For instance the lion characters in the Lion King all walk and look exactly like lions in a real life society would but talk and act like evolved creatures would. Characters in the Ice Age movie are perfect examples of Non-Anthropomorphic but still furry type animals.

****

Non-Furry - A term often used by me to mean a non-evolved animal or not a sentient being. Often relating to regular every day animals that act as they normally would in an Earth like regular society. A pet dog or cat that can't talk or stand up or act in an overly intelligent manner for that species to normally act would be a perfect example of a non-furry creature. Mickey Mouse is Furry while his pet dog Pluto is Non-Furry.  Humans can be seen as Non-Furry as well but for this pages purposes the term isn't used in to refer to them.  This term can be subjective and flexible as well to fit in some animals that while they don't speak they do act in a higher state then such a species would. Like for instance Aladdin's pet monkey Abu doesn't talk but does squeak and seem to understand what is going on and how to communicate through his monkey squeaks. Where Aladdin's sidekick parrot, Iago acts perfectly evolved and is unquestionably furry. So the term can be of a gray area at times when it is a mixture of both furry traits and non-furry traits in various animal characters in cartoons.

****

Not Quite What We Had in Mind - An old section of the site that listed things that are close but not quite what is considered macro according to this pages criteria for macro moments. These included things such as shrinking, insects, giant robots, regular sized furs crushing model play sets, camera tricks and not growing big enough to fit the pages uses. The section is now defunct as there was no point in focusing on what doesn't belong here. But the term can still be used when these moments show up in various macro episodes giving more to what could have been then what we did get.  Please check the FAQ section of this site to see a more in depth explanation of what doesn't fit the criteria of the site and would fall in the Not Quite What We Had in Mind section.

Located at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/macrofurriesincartoonspage/ it is the place to go when you want to post your own pictures, messages, or information related to anything that would be the subject of this site or about things related to the running of the site. A great place to hang and post when you want to talk about macro cartoon episodes or just random macroness in general. Not as active as it used to be but still a fun place to check out when you have something to say. Feel free to post, there are many people there waiting to hear what you have to say and Temdant is always around seeing the comments left there.

-R-

'Raise the Roof'-  Term often used on this site, especially in picture captions, to mark the moment that said furry or animal finishes his growth process by having his head push through the ceiling and roof of a building.  Any raise the roof moments will often get a picture capture to show the triumphant moment that they out grew a building giving them their new size and powerful status as the building crumbles around their now too large for it bodies.

****

Rampaging - Often referred to in the pages reviews, it is a Godzilla/King Kong mimicking situation in which the now giant furry or animal is stomping down the street destroying all the buildings and anything else in it's way with ease. Mass chaos and destruction are rampant as the newly arriving giant beast makes it's way through the city unscaved. A powered up creature enjoying his/her moment of power and size not letting anything ruin his/her big moment upon what is usually an unsuspecting city that it arrives upon to show what it can now accomplish. Rampaging doesn't have to take place in cities or metropolitan areas always but most of the time it will be emulating the before mentioned Godzilla or King Kong which both rampaged in cities in the media's they are from.

The true definition of the word 'rampage' is
n. A course of violent, frenzied behavior or action.

While the true definition of the act of 'rampaging' is:
intr.v. To move about wildly or violently.

****
Rating - Every episode, movie and comic that is reviewed on the site is given a full write up as well as a rating after the review. This is done on a typical scholastic letter grading system. Going from A as the highest and F to the worst. The highest grade an episode can get is A+ which means it is an episode that I pick as one of the best of the best as it has various elements that all macro episodes should have and will have something for everyone. An episode with a C rating will be a middle of the road no frills episode that had some OK moments but was lacking in many places. An F grade (which is yet to be given to anything on the site yet ) means that it was a total waste of time and has no redeming values in any way and should not even be mentioned as existing. The old rating system was done on a  5 star system with five stars being the best and zero being the worst. That was changed to the letters so people can have a more exact narrowing down of how exactly I feel the episode would be rated. The ratings are for opinion based purposes only and may differ from your own views on said media moment.

****

Recombination -  Not often used in cartoons and rarely used in other media's, it is a process by which a character is turned into many copies of itself either through science, magic or natural process of said creature. The various clones of the creature eventually fuse back together and instead of being the same size as it is normally, all the extra copies of itself add extra mass causing the creature to now be of a macro and monstrous size. 80's cartoons used to do recombination at times in a way to make a thrilling story with all the cloned copies of a character running lose and to end the situation with a now really big version of the recombined creature for the main characters to now have to deal with. One of the best examples of a recombination episode is from the Real Ghostbusters,"Adventures in Slime and Space". It's an  episode where Slimer goes through an invention of Igon's and turns into thousands of little Slimers all formed by his body being separated into clones. Towards the end he recombines and becomes one huge giant sized Slimer due to too many slimers recombining into one body. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles also had an episode with a similar theme involving a creature named the Zip.

****

Real Life Animals - One of the newest sections to the site. Expanding on the aspects of macro moments in media, this focuses around those real life looking macro moments found on TV or in movies. King Kong from the movies would go in this section as he was a real life gorilla interacting in a real life society where as the King Kong cartoon moments would go in the List of Characters section. Set up in the very same way as the List section is, this will review, list, give a synopsis of and show various images and AVI of the moments focused around real life animals or furries that were made big. Since it is one of the newer sections it is far from completed and the most under developed section of the site. Real Life moments are also harder to come by then animated ones due to it being easier to animate growth and giants then it is to create for a movie. Various B-Movies would make for perfect candidates to be future additions to this section as even if they look fake if they aren't animated and are supposed to be real life looking, then this is the section they would be placed in properly.  Computer animation moments in real time movies or TV shows can find their way here if they still are supposed to be their same selves only bigger due to the use of computer animation effects. Giant animation moments in a real time environment though would be most likely placed in the List section due to the focal character being of a cartoon nature even if it's not totally in a animated world. It would also depend on what the character was before it was macro or how the situation is supposed to be taken. Scrappy Doo from the Scooby Doo movie winds up growing in size towards the end and while he was computer animated he was supposed to be real looking in the environment he was placed in so would be placed in the Real Life Animals section.

Size Fluctuation - Often listed as a continuity error, this is when the size of the character in cartoon episodes seems to change from very big in an earlier scene to a bit smaller  in the next scene all to fit into the new situation it finds himself in.  Usually there will be no reason that the size should have changed and for all purposes of this term there was no size change. But to either fit the character in the picture fully with those he/she is interacting with or due to different animators doing the episode or some other visual reasons, the character was drawn smaller then he was when first introduced at his biggest size in said episode. The character will often be back to his bigger size moments later or in another scene but sometimes they may not return to the biggest they were shown at and stay at the now smaller drawn size up to the end of their macro moments in the episode. The opposite fluctuation happens at times as well where the character can be seen bigger then it's supposed to be at various moments and perspectives and interactions but will often return to be drawn at the proper size moments later.

Should Have Been Macro (or) Characters That Should Have Been Macro But Never Were - A section on the site that is full of collages using images from various cartoons putting them into macro situations in doctored up pictures. Said characters were 99% of the time never macro in any episode and are shown in situations of what it would look like if they ever did have a macro situation in a cartoon. The section originaly started out as just cartoon character related collages but has since been expanded to show what normal real life animals would look like in macro situations as well. The Lion King part of this section is the most focused on and worked on aspect due to Temdant's being a big fan of the Lion King and others seeming to submit primarily Lion King based images. Any college can be added to either the cartoon based or real life animal based areas of this section as long as they follow the rules for submissions to it listed in the FAQ section of the site.

Shrinking (or) Micro Furry Moments - The opposite of what this page focuses on. This is the process of getting smaller and miniaturized in size over a set period of time which can be a few moments to a long string of time. Shrinking usually doesn't happen over normal real life time but can in people over long periods of time as they age. Shrinking will only be mentioned or shown on this page if they lead to macro moments occurring or if they were first shrunk down in size and wound up growing to a macro size at another point in the episode. These moments can be said to have the same themes and situations as macro moments only in a different perspectives of the idea that the now smaller character is making everything around him/her seem much larger in scale. So in essence it has the same properties that growing does. While that may all be true and valid, for this pages purposes if it's not King Kong Size or fitting of the 12 foot exception it won't make it onto this page no matter how many good moments with interactions are found within. Feel free to see the FAQ for more on the pages view on shrinking and Micro Furry and why it isn't on the site.

Transformation (or) Metamorphosis - Changing from one form to another. This can involve many situations and transformation methods. Far too many to list here. Growing into a bigger size can also be seen as a transformation of sorts as said character or animal is going from small to large and thus transforming into something it wasn't previously. For this pages purposes though the only time the term is used is when said characters become the giants they are due to being transformed into something totally different then they were previously before they grew. Growth and Transformation are two separate terms as far as this page goes even though technically they are really part of the same category.

The true definition of the word Metamorphosis is:
  1. n. pl. : A transformation, as by magic or sorcery.
  2. n. pl. : A marked change in appearance, character, condition, or function

Temdant - Name used by the person who operates and updates this website (Macro Anthropomorphic and Non-Anthropomorphic Animals, Furries and Other Giant Beasts in Cartoons, Movies and TV Shows Page) since it's creation in 1997. His furry persona is that of a lion of large size and will often highlight and give preference to lions of a big nature, even on his page, but much more then that is really not known about this chief organizer of this site. The name Temdant was chosen for two reasons. One it was the name he used of a character in one of the stories he used to write when he was a wee  lad. And secondly he wanted and America On Line name that wouldn't require any numbers to appear in it. So he picked a made up name that no one else would have had. He is no longer part of AOL as his site has moved to a new location since those days but the name has stuck as it is the name used for his email and Yahoo! Club. Often lazy much like his lion persona, updates seem to be getting farther and farther in between but when he does get off of his tail he always tries to please the public who want to see big things stomping about in all sorts of media's.  He has run this site solo from day one and does it just for fun and to share his collection and interest with others. He has no other interest in doing this site other then having people enjoy macro furry/animal moments as much as he does. He is very easy to talk to and loves to talk of all things macro related and of various episodes. He's not around as much as he used to be but if you you are patient and look hard enough you will be able to find the lazing lion between a building or two. Rumored to be going by another name in the furry society to keep his page identity and furry identity unrelated. But such rumors have never been proven to be true.

Twelve Foot Exception - 12 feet is the smallest size that a character can be to make it onto the lists of this site.  And even then it has to be good moments and characters that everyone would have loved to have seen bigger then they did wind up becoming.  For this pages interests most macro situations should involve creatures, furries or animals at least 30 feet in size. That way it can add to the theme and feel of this page properly. Any smaller and it's just a regular interactment and nothing that special to be highlighting or showing. There are some moments were characters double in size and have fun situations that do add to that macro theme and that is when this Exception would come into play. One of the most famous episodes that I often refer to when using this exception is the Snarf episode from the Thundercats episode titled "Wolf Rat". Snarf grew bigger and had some time as a bigger character but he wasn't of a rampaging or King Kong size of creature. He still is the type of character that most would have loved to see big so this is the time when it can make it onto the page as it was fun and long enough lived to give moments to highlight and note. Often times though the size changes have to be a bit grander then in these situations to become a part of the page.

Viewer Feedback - Section on the site where people can have a little interactive involvement on things. People can sign the guest book and answer questions in it to let me know what you would like to see or what intrests you have. As well as leave other comments about the site or things in general. Also there is information on the Yahoo! club and a random poll that people can vote on. The polls are often changing are more then one is available. Another one could appear if you enter the page at another time or reload it.

Vore - Vore relates to moments involving giant animals or creatures placing other smaller furries or people into their mouthes trapping them either with the tongue or within a closed muzzle around them. Vore moments will sometimes be mentioned or highlighted in the various pictures put up in the reviews. A very popular aspect of macro, Vore moments making up story elements that are sometimes used in various cartoons and movies for ways of the now giant sized monster to show it's size and authority. The interesting thing to note about vore moments in American cartoons is that the no killing rule that most cartoons here follow results in any creatures in a giants mouth often being spit out and making sure the audience at home realizes that they weren't eaten or swallowed. Often they are left just covered in saliva as the monsters goes on it's way scaring everyone in other ways. In non animation uses Vore can often result in being swallowed in a slow drawn out process and sometimes even cartoons can end with characters winding up in the stomach at the end as a humorous ending.

Wanted!! -  Section of the site that lists some of the episodes that are currently either not in my collection of episodes, or I want a fuller or better copy of said episode. The list is far from complete and there are many yet to be added. Feel free to help out in any way you can by either alerting me of episodes to add to it or by helping me out by getting some of the episodes I require so I can shame them with all the folks out there.

'Zilla'- An ending often added to an animal or character name to now go along with the animal or furries new monster size and form. For instance when a dog character grows in size, the new name given can be "Dogzilla" to be a play up on the Godzilla name that the most famous king of monsters goes by. The Zilla name has become one of the biggest uses for giving now giant sized furries or animals a more monster sounding name. Usually a one syllable word either their name or their animal type or something appropriate that would fit will be inserted in front of the Zilla synonym. Sometimes the situation with a Zilla insertion can be just a silly Godzilla spoof which is why the Zilla was added to the name but it isn't always the case.  One of the most popular episodes where this name change has occurred is the Super Mario Bros Super Show episode titled "Mario Meets Koop-Zilla" where King Koopa took on the name of Koopzilla.
